Falcon Ridge
Falcon Ridge - Bird of Prey display center in the Central Drakensberg
Falcon
Ridge Bird of Prey display center in the Central Drakensberg hosts an impressive
Bird of prey show every morning at 10h30 except on Fridays. Falcon Ridge
is situated high up in the Champagne Valley 2km past the Drakensberg
Boys Choir. Visit Falcon Ridge and witness an amazing bird of prey display!
Visitors to Falcon Ridge Bird of Pey Center
will view Birds of prey found in South Africa. The show includes a short
presentation made by Falconers who will tell the history of how Falconry
began and demonstrate the power and speed of these birds.
Children must be
accompanied by strict adult supervision, as some of the birds are large enough
to catch small deer. You will be able to see the birds make use of their
talons, beaks and wings both whilst stationary and in flight.
Falcon Ridge is well
worth a visit and very informative both for adults and children. At Falcon
Ridge visitors can witness these mighty hunters of the sky swoop for the
catch. Shows are held daily at 10h30 but are dependent on the weather. Call
082 774 6398 to confirm that a show is to be held. |
